Diese Bohne wurde 1903 von John W.Daily * of Falling Waters, West Virginia (USA) in einem Bohnenbeet mit braunen Bohnen gefunden worden.
A green bush snap bean with fantastic properties …“ the pods are brittle, juicy, entirely free from fibre and absolutely stringless at all stages of growth.The handsome light green pods will immediately attract all who desire both quality and quantity. The seed being white can be used for dried beans in the winter” (from W.Atlee Burpee seed catalogue anno 1914) This bean was found by John W.Daily * of Falling Waters, West Virginia (USA) in a bed of brown seeded Burpee’s Stringless Greenpod in 1903. The hole historic can be found in “Beans of New York” U.P.Hedrick-anno 1931, p.41 * John W.Daily (1821-****) was a farmer, corn merchant and grain dealer at Falling waters, Berkeley County. The bean ‘Forhook Favorite’ is named after the ‘cultivation and trial fields’ of W.A. Burpee of Philadelphia-USA- = Fordhook Farm) , there are numerous vegetables with Fordhook name : a limabean (‘Fordhook 242’) tomato (‘Burpee’s Fordhook First’) , chard (‘Fordhook Giant Swiss chard’) , pea, pumpkin
